Urinary tract infections, also called UTI, are the 2nd most common infectious disease seen in primary care. Unfortunately, many of the strains of UTI are resistant to antibiotics. Well a recent study published in the Pertanika Journal of Tropical Agricultural Science has shown that garlic may be the answer to curing UTI. Garlic has sulfur compounds that have made it a common remedy for centuries all over the world. In this study, they found that 82% of the antibiotic resistant strains of UTI were not resistant to the compounds found in garlic extract.
